Phyllis Smith came out of retirement to reprise her role as Sadness for Inside Out 2
Narrative
A sequel in which Riley hits puberty and experiences entirely new, more complex emotions as a result. As Riley tries to adjust to her teenage years, her old emotions struggle to adjust to the possibility of being replaced. She asked Pixar to find her a recording studio in Missouri because she had no intention of traveling all the way to Los Angeles just for that. As Riley gets older, her feelings become more complex, so new characters (emotions) are introduced. But wouldn’t that mean that their parents (and possibly other adults) who have become even more mature and developed will have not only these emotions but even more emotions in their control rooms?
Are these emotions repressed?
There is a hint of fear during the middle scene with both parents, but not much else. Or hidden like Riley
Nostalgia? This was also the case in the previous film where the adults… control rooms seemed as developed as the children’s and had the same number of emotions. To be clear, the mid-credits scene in question strongly suggests that fear and other new emotions tend to be held in place by the five main emotions and only occasionally show up to express their fears, which explains its complete absence from the first film.
Maybe we can’t
Joy: I don’t know how to stop the fear. Maybe it will happen when you grow up. You feel less joy. “This film is dedicated to our children. We love you just the way you are.” Starring in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The D23 Expo 2022 Special (2022).
Bloofy’s House Theme Song by Jennifer Rowekamp Starring Ron Funches
Inside Out 2 is a beautiful and emotional sequel that dives deeper to the intricacies of growing up. While it doesn’t reach the groundbreaking heights of the original, it’s still a gratifying and entertaining experience. Each one has its own unique personality and quirks, adding new layers to Riley’s inner world. The animation is visually stunning with vivid colors and imaginative landscapes that bring to life the voice actors that capture the essence of each character. Inside Out 2 manages to maintain a sense of wonder and charm, a poignant reminder of the power of emotion and the importance of embracing the full range of our emotions.
A must for fans of the first film and anyone who appreciates a good animated adventure
Overall, “Inside Out 2” is a worthy successor to the original and offers a heartwarming and funny ride through a rollercoaster of emotions.
