American (English) remake of the French TV series HPI (2021)
Narrative
It tells the story of Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her exceptional mind helps her to solve a crime by sorting through evidence as a police cleaner. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory and extensive knowledge of secrets, Morgan commits a number of elementary legal mistakes that cannot be made by anyone who has ever watched a legal TV show.
It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence, which is a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine
In the first part, for example, he takes out of a locked safe in the office of the suspect-victim’s lawyer a document that will never be accepted for consideration in court – evidence obtained illegally. Part 2 reminds you to wear gloves before handling crime scene evidence, and Part 3 removes all documentary evidence from the police, completely breaking the chain of custody and making anything removed more inadmissible in court.
Remake of HPI (2021)
. Looking through his TV resume after Always Sunny and before his role in Mika, Olson appears on screen in a not-so-bright remake of this French procedural, but he’s definitely in good spirits.
Comedy is woven into his performance, as well as the French language
The episode that, as you can tell, attracted Olson to this project is how he portrays a struggling, full-bodied, talented woman. But this series will be better if you are charmed by the experienced cast led by Judy Reyes, whose stern eyes and soft voice invite the audience to empathize with the players her character wants to gather around her to achieve justice.
The series will be supplemented with new scenes between Reyes and Olson
The first episode was well done, although the editing could have been worked on.
