Flint, Michigan high school student Clarence Shields (Ryan Destiney), with the help of her tough coach Jason Crutchfield (Brian Tyree Henry), breaks all barriers to become the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. However, even at the height of her success, Claressa must reckon with the fact that not all clothes are there all the time.
